Question 1 Explanation:
Discussion: The importance of diagnosing and treatment concussions has gained national attention. In the United States, over 300,000 sports-related concussions occur annually, and the likelihood of suffering a concussion while playing a contact sport is estimated to be as high as 19% per year of play. It is vitally important for parents, athletes, coaches and healthcare providers to understand the latest signs, symptoms, and treatment for individuals who suffer a concussion. Further and further awareness is taking place every day throughout the country based on cutting edge research, data, and state / national legislative changes based on the prevalence of the condition. Over half of all U.S. states now have some form of student-athlete concussion law in place, and nearly a dozen other states have youth concussion legislation pending. Roughly 20 states passed their youth concussion laws in 2011.
